If you have seen headlines that say that housing sales have fallen compared to last year, you may think, is it even a good time to sell?
Here is the thing. Of course, the market has cooled compared to the frenzy we saw only a few years ago, but that is not a red flag. It is a return to normal. And normality does not mean that nothing happens. Buyers are still out there, and houses are still being sold.
Because real life does not stop for perfect conditions. There are always people who need to buy, and this year is no exception. Buyers who are in the midst of a great change in their lives, a new marriage, a growing family or a new work location, must still move, regardless of where the mortgage rates are. And they can be looking for a home like yours.
Every minute 8 houses are sold
We are going to break it down using the latest Sales data from National Association of Realtors (NAR). Based on the current pace, we are on the way to selling 4.03 million homes this year (not including new constructions).
- 4.03 million homes ÷ 365 days = 11,041 houses are sold per day
- 11,041 houses ÷ 24 hours = 460 houses are sold per hour
- 460 houses ÷ 60 minutes = approximately 8 houses are sold every minute
That means that in the time you have to read this, another 8 houses will be sold. Let that sink in. Every minute, buyers are making movements, and sellers are closing offers.
The right agent makes all the difference
If you have stopped selling your home because you think buyers are not out there, there are still as stated above many buyers seeking to buy.
But since the market is balancing, selling today takes more than simply putting a sign in the patio. You have to set the price of your home well, market it well and know how to get to buyers who are ready to act. That’s where a local trusted agent enters.
They will help you navigate this market, position your home to highlight and guide it through each step.
